Covert surveillance operatives, Titan fulfils the shortage within the UK!
Titan Investigations is committed to raising the standards of surveillance training within the UK and filling the shortfall with competent covert surveillance operatives. The resourcing of surveillance deployments Nationwide is becoming harder and harder in recent months. This may be due to a tier of operatives retiring, operatives leaving the industry during the COVID Pandemic and not returning, and/or operatives being committed to long term tasking.
As a direct response to this shortfall, Titan has taken the decision to make a surveillance career more attractive by reducing the course fee by 25%. At present, the cost of the Titan RQF Level 4 (Intermediate) 5 Day Surveillance Course is £1000+VAT (£1200). Titan’s 2023 courses will be reduced to £750+VAT (£900). The aim of this is to reduce the initial cost to the learner to make the move into this exciting industry less capital intensive and a real possibility.
We are planning to increase the delivery of our courses from four per year to eight to fill this shortage of covert surveillance operatives. The initial four courses will be delivered from our Derby training facility on the following dates.
- 9th to 13th January 2023
- 27th February to 3rd March 2023
- 17th to 21st April 2023
- 12th to 16th June 2023
A further four courses will be released for the second half of the year.
Covert surveillance operatives: Why use Titan as your training provider?
The RQF Level 4 (Intermediate) in Covert Surveillance Operations is a formally recognised industry qualification. There are a number of training providers that deliver this course. We all deliver the same syllabus which is stringently monitored by the awarding body Skills for Justice. Titan Surveillance Training however goes further. We deliver the Advanced syllabus within 5 days except for the nighttime surveillance module. The awarding body set a total qualification time to achieve the Advanced qualification, so it is unachievable to be gained during the 5-day course. So, although learners will receive the delivery of the Advanced syllabus, they will be awarded the Intermediate qualification. We deliver the Advanced syllabus because we believe that our students require the additional modules to be competent covert surveillance operatives. Titan’s training team are all former Police surveillance operatives, Police surveillance instructors and have a wealth of private sector experience so are fully up-to-date with current tactics and practices.
What happens post course if I am successful in achieving the RQF Level 4 qualification?
Titan is different from other training providers as we are predominantly an operational company. We deliver surveillance courses to purely ensure that we can meet our operational demand. On successful completion of the course our graduates are enrolled onto the industry-renowned Titan “GROW” Student Aftercare Programme where you will be offered operational deployments whilst being paid a minimum of £25 per hour and further developed.
What is GROW?
GROW is our student aftercare acronym which stands for:
- GROUP – Students are added to Titan’s operational resourcing group where they will be allocated their first surveillance tasks.
- RECOMMEND – Advised as regards equipment, setups, tactics and the law.
- ONGOING SUPPORT – Students are allocated a mentor to instil success in the early stages of their career when you are judged the most.
- WITH YOU – Double crewed on your first live operational deployments to ensure your confidence grows.

So why choose another surveillance training provider?
You may choose another training provider which is closer to you geographically, which is completely understandable. Other than that, there is no reason.
- Titan delivers a superior course to other training providers. As stated, we deliver the Advanced syllabus but charge for the Intermediate 5-day course, which is half the cost and half the duration.
- Our training team are all former government surveillance trained professionals, so they are from a credible background.
- Titan is predominantly an operational company and will offer work on a subcontractor basis.
- Titan’s surveillance course is currently the cheapest in the UK by at least 25% as we need to recruit new surveillance operatives to meet our operational demand.
- Titan do not profit from the course fee. Our courses are non-profit-making and are on occasions subsidised.
Titan has nine offices located between London and Manchester so offers our students operational deployments nationally.
